Angola analyses cooperation with Congo

Luanda – Angola and the Republic of Congo on Tuesday discussed strengthening friendship and bilateral cooperation in several areas at a meeting in Brazzaville.

The Angolan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the analysis was made during a meeting between the head of Angolan diplomacy, Teté António, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Francophony and Congolese Abroad of the Republic of Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso.

At the meeting, held on the eve of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the two entities addressed, in particular, the holding of the next Joint Commission of cooperation between the two countries.

On the multilateral front, the two ministers discussed the results achieved by ECCAS during the current presidency of the Republic of Congo.

The interlocutors reaffirmed the will of both countries to continue contributing to the implementation of the ECCAS reform, in order to make the ideal of regional economic integration more effective, in favour of the welfare and prosperity of the community’s population.
