Angola and Argentina Seek Strengthened Collective Security Cooperation

Buenos aires: The Angolan ambassador to Argentina, Azevedo Xavier Francisco, and a delegation from the Argentine company Delta, led by Fernando Barbeitos, convened in Buenos Aires to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in collective security and investments.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting underscored the significance of collective security as a foundation for institutional stability, sustainable development, and investment attraction. The discussion highlighted international cooperation as essential for conflict prevention, boosting technical capacities, and fostering economic growth-friendly environments.

The DELTA delegation showcased its expertise in producing bulletproof vests and other protective gear for defense and security forces. They also explored potential collaboration in the defense sector, considering Argentine company Bersa, and discussed the feasibility of establishing a manufacturing unit in Angola, adhering to national and international legal standards.

Ambassador Francisco highlighted Angola's strategic and geopolitical role in Southern Africa, positioning it as a gateway to regional markets and a hub for business expansion across Africa. He reiterated Angola's commitment to economic diversification, focusing on tourism, mineral resources, oil and gas, construction, transportation, and manufacturing, offering tangible opportunities for foreign investment.

DELTA's representative shared Argentina's disarmament experience, emphasizing initiatives and programs aimed at reducing weapon circulation and promoting a culture of peace among citizens.
