Luanda: Angola and China signed an agreement on Wednesday in Changsha, China, to send a Chinese medical team to the country as part of bilateral cooperation.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials from both countries, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Conference of Coordinators for the Implementation of the Results of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
Under the agreement, at Angola’s request, China will send a medical team of twelve members from various specialties to the country, whose mission is to exchange experience and provide medical assistance to Angolans, in close collaboration with local professionals. Both parties should encourage hospitals to establish cooperative relationships, promote research and academic exchanges, conduct training, and provide free consultations and specialty development.
The parties also signed the Economic Partnership Framework Agreement to promote shared development between China and African countries, imp
rove pragmatic cooperation between the Asian country and the continent, and jointly build a high-level community between the two with a shared future. The goal is to achieve sustainable development and inclusive growth by promoting the growth of African manufacturing, modernizing agriculture, improving the competitiveness of African countries in the global market, and supporting their integration into the world economy.
Promoting international trade and investment in order to play an important role in promoting diversified economic transformation and high-quality development, as well as strengthening the capacity of African countries to produce and export high value-added products is also one of the goals of the agreement.
