San Juan de los Lagos:Angola and Ghana will compete against each other on November 14 in Mexico as they begin their journey in Group D of the Amputee Football World Cup. This match signifies their first encounter on a global level.
According to Angola Press News Agency, The game is set for 730 pm local time at San Martn Stadium in San Juan de los Lagos, which will host all matches in Group D. Ghana recently triumphed over Angola with a 3-1 win in the semi-finals of the African Championship in Tanzania in December 2021 and has since secured consecutive African titles in 2021 and 2024, as well as a gold medal at the 2023 African Para Games.
Meanwhile, Angola has an impressive global track record, having won the World Cup in Mexico in 2018 and finishing second in both 2014 and 2022. Following the opener against Ghana, Angola will play Iraq on November 15 at 530 pm, recalling their 4-1 victory in the 2022 World Cup group stage in Turkey. Angola will wrap up their group matches against Colombia on November 16 at 330 pm, marking another first-time matchup.
Since August, the Angolan team has been training under Turkish head coach Mehmet Kiska§ at the Jos© Sayovo Paralympic Complex in Caxito, Bengo province. Their current training phase ends on October 2, with the final stage commencing on October 8, which includes a pre-tournament camp in Turkey. The World Cup will take place from November 13 to 23.
