Huambo:The Water Supply Systems Rehabilitation and Operationalisation Programme (PROSAH) in Angola is valued at USD 129.3 million and aims to benefit 721,000 residents across four municipalities in Huambo Province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the programme will cover the municipalities of Ca¡la, Londuimbali, Longonjo, and Mungo. Interventions will focus on water abstraction, treatment, storage, and distribution, with targets including a treatment capacity of 950 cubic metres per hour, 90 kilometres of new distribution networks, 19,000 cubic metres of storage capacity, and more than 34,000 new household connections.
The project, launched in August, is coordinated by Imbono, which oversees both administrative and financial aspects. Imbono is also showcasing the Acqua project at Expo-Huambo, a business unit specialising in water and sanitation services, with experience in the rehabilitation and modernisation of water systems.
In Hula Province, Acqua is involved in Component II of Lot H12 of the Water Supply Systems Construction and Expansion Project (PCESSA), focusing on emergency supply works and maintenance activities. Additionally, Acqua contributes to the Quilonga Grande project in Luanda and the Luongo Water Treatment Plant in Benguela.
Imbono's Marketing and Communications Director, Iury Rodrigues, highlighted the importance of PROSAH in strengthening water systems in Huambo. The company's role combines project coordination with sector expertise, while its participation in Expo-Huambo aims to foster partnerships and investment in Angola's diverse economic sectors.
