Doha:Angola is set to face Morocco on Wednesday night in a bid for its first-ever continental futsal title during the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations final. The match is scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Morocco previously claimed victory in the last championship final with a commanding 5-1 win. However, Angola comes into this rematch with strong momentum under the guidance of head coach Marcio Garcez.
Angola's journey in the tournament has been impressive, including a clean sweep of the group stage and a dramatic semifinal comeback against Algeria. After trailing by two goals at halftime, Angola rallied to achieve a 3-2 victory. The team also secured significant wins against Mozambique (5-1), Tanzania (4-0), and Egypt (4-2) throughout the competition.
Morocco, on the other hand, advanced to the final by defeating Egypt 6-0 in the semifinals. The team is looking to maintain its continental dominance, while Angola aims to convert its previous silver finish into gold.
