Angola and United States to Host Intellectual Property Rights Conference in Luanda

Luanda: Angola and the United States will hold the 5th Annual Conference on Intellectual Property Rights in Luanda on September 25, with the aim of finding effective mechanisms to protect authors' rights. According to Angola Press News Agency, the event will feature international speakers, Angolan judges, and representatives from the Angolan Ministries of Industry and Commerce, as well as the Ministry of Culture. The conference, themed 'Creative Economy: Technology, Innovation, and Intellectual Property,' will address topics such as international intellectual property structures and agreements, monetising music, and the digital economy, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on intellectual property. The U.S. Embassy and Angolan government ministerial departments hold annual lectures and workshops on intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights (IPRs) are legal rights that protect the results of intellectual activity in the fields of science, literature, and art. These rights grant c reators the exclusive right to use, reproduce, and authorise the use of their work, thereby ensuring economic benefits and stimulating innovation.
