Angola and Vietnam Reinforce Partnership in Agricultural Sector

Hanoi: An Angolan delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, arrived on Monday in Vietnam to reinforce bilateral cooperation, with emphasis on technology transfer, technical assistance, training of personnel, and promotion of joint investments.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the agenda of the Angolan delegation includes meetings with government officials, research institutions, and companies in the sector. Among other activities, the Angolan official will hold meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and Environment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Trinh Viet Hung, and visit several enterprises linked to the sector he leads.

The Angolan delegation will also learn about Vietnamese experiences in rural extension, technological innovation applied to agriculture, sustainable forestry production, seed improvement, irrigated rice cultivation, development of coffee and tea value chains, export-oriented aquaculture, processing of fish products and feed production, as well as integrated environmental management and rural development models.

The visit is part of the implementation of the understandings reached during the official visit of the Vietnamese President, Luong Cuong, to Angola, from August 6 to 8, 2025, and the Agricultural Cooperation Action Plan 2025-2030, an instrument that defines the partnership priorities between the two countries in this area.

The invitation was extended by the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, which aims to strengthen the mechanisms for technical and institutional exchange with Angola and accelerate the implementation of initiatives foreseen within the framework of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

Relations between Angola and Vietnam have seen significant development in recent years, with particular emphasis on the growing interest of both parties in deepening economic and productive cooperation.
