Angola appoints Argentinian coach for hockey team

Luanda – Angola has appointed the Argentine Miguel Belbruno as head coach of the national senior men’s roller hockey team to compete in the 45th edition of the Roller Hockey World Cup, taking place from November 7 to 14 in San Juan, Argentina.

Angolans are part of group B with Mozambique, Argentina and Spain.

Different from the previous 18 presences, Angola decided to bet on a Argentine coach, after appointing five nationals, a Spanish and a Portuguese. The Argentine coached Brazil in the 2013 World Cup, held in Angola.

Angola’s best classification is the 5th place reached in Nanjing’2017, China.

The Angola senior males roller hockey team were already led by the Angolan coaches João Cruz, Nelson Costa, Nelson Amado “Sony”, Clemente Assis, Miguel Pataca and Orlando Graça, as well as Miguel Humbert Riera (Spanish) and Fernando Fallé (Portuguese).
