Angola at Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit

Luanda – A delegation from the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) will take part in the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit between 5 and 6 December in London.

In its press note reached Angop on Saturday, the Angolan Agency stated that it will participate for the first time as a strategic member of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

The delegation, that will be led by the CEO of AIPEX, António Henriques da Silva, will also participate in a round table on “the future of the global work space.

At the event, which is expected to gather representatives from 56 member countries of this organisation, the Angolan delegation will be integrated by business leaders from the financial and industrial sectors.

They include Fomento Angola Bank (BFA), Angolan Investment Bank (BAI), Refriango and Carrinho Lda.

AIPEX started the relationship with CWEIC at the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) held in Kigali, Rwanda, in June 2022.

AIPEX joins CWEIC’s other global strategic partners, including multinationals, such as Afreximbank, Standard Chartered and Dangote Group, regional governments, among others.

CWEIC is a non profit or commercial organisation, where members are admitted by invitation only.

It is the only institution with a mandate from 56 Commonwealth Heads of Government to promote trade and investment among member countries.

CWEIC has established an international presence in Australia, the Caribbean, Ghana, Gibraltar, India, Malaysia, Malta, Nigeria, Singapore, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.

AIPEX is expected to promote and attract private investment of domestic and foreign origin, aimed at contributing to the socio-economic development of the country, as well as promoting the increase and diversification of the country’s exports of products and services.
