Angola, Brazil boost parliamentary cooperation

Luanda – Issues related to parliamentary strengthening in the fields of legislative production and communication and information technologies dominated, this Friday, the meeting between delegations of the National Assembly (AN) of Angola and the National Congress of Brazil.

This information was provided to the media by the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly, Emília Carlota Dias, who said that aspects related to the Parliamentary Administration were also discussed.

According to her, the bilateral relations between Angola and Brazil are long-standing, despite the need to give more dynamism to the exchange between the two houses of laws.

In the view of the deputy speaker of the National Assembly, “the timidity that has been registered in parliamentary relations has to become more dynamic.

With a view to fulfilling this assumption, she announced that the two parliaments would continue to work on matters that would contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations, with a view to re-launching the ties of solidarity and brotherhood.

Angola and Brazil have had diplomatic and political relations since Angola’s independence and, within the scope of the strategic partnership, there are 70 cooperation projects.

Brazil was the first country to recognize the Republic of Angola after the proclamation of independence, on 11 November 1975.
