Angola Engages at 19th Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo

Luanda: The Ambassador of Angola to Zimbabwe, Baltazar Diogo Cristóvo, was present for the inauguration of the 19th Edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo, a key international event for tourism promotion in Zimbabwe. According to Angola Press News Agency, Angola's involvement was marked by attendance at the event's official opening ceremony, which took place at the Gymkhana Events and Conference Centre in Masvingo. The proceedings were presided over by Zimbabwe's Head of State, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. Angola's participation aims to bolster cooperation with Zimbabwe and showcase its tourism potential to international operators and investors. The expo gathered Zimbabwean government representatives, diplomatic corps members accredited to Zimbabwe, tourism operators, investors, international buyers, and both public and private institutions. During the event, President Mnangagwa emphasized the role of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in advancing tourism, highlighting thei r potential to enhance destination promotion and visitor service quality. Moreover, the Zimbabwean leader stressed the significance of preserving local communities' culture, heritage, and identity as vital for the tourism sector's sustainable development. The 19th Edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo hosts 405 exhibitors and 153 buyers, including 125 international participants from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. The event aims to promote tourist destinations, encourage exchanges among sector operators, and create business opportunities and partnerships.
