Luanda: Angola is participating in the Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance, in Lomé, Togo, with a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António. The meeting, taking place from today, is being held under the theme "Crisis in Africa and the Middle East: Impacts, Challenges, and Strategic Responses" and brings together ministers and heads of delegation from member states to analyze the effects of the current international situation on the African continent. According to Angola Press News Agency, during the proceedings, participants will address the economic and security impacts of the crisis in the Middle East on Africa, as well as the strengthening of dialogue between Africa and the Middle East, with a view to promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development. Created at the initiative of Togo in May 2023, the African Political Alliance currently comprises ten member states and constitutes a platform for political coordination on strategic is sues of the continental and international agenda. For Angola, the conference represents an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to African multilateral diplomacy and contribute to defining concerted responses to current geopolitical and security challenges. The country will seek to deepen cooperation between Africa and the Middle East, in defense of peace, regional stability, and the economic development of the continent.
