Angola Falls to Egypt in Women’s Junior Handball World Championship Consolation Phase

Luanda: Angola lost on Tuesday to Egypt, 20-26, in the 'consolation' phase of the Women's Junior Handball World Championship, which is taking place in China. At half-time, the national team were trailing 15-10 in a match refereed by the Iranian duo Ahmad Cheisarian and Amir Cheisarian. According to Angola Press News Agency, Egypt are the current holders of the African title, whilst the Angolans finished in 3rd place in the last continental championship. In the group stage, Angola lost to Austria (22-29) and Serbia (16-26), concluding with a 24-11 victory over Paraguay. On Monday, the Angolans defeated India by an impressive 33-14. The National Team includes players Daniela Neto, Ladislane Vata, Elizandra Domingos, Patrícia Paulino, Giatiane Cassoma, Rita Xavier, Vilma Manuel, Beatriz Pereira, Augusta dos Anjos, Isabel Cateco, Balbina Nunda, Carla Lussende, Marina Alfredo, Maria Castro and Letícia Costa.
