Angola foreign affairs minister meets with Rwandan counterpart

Luanda – Angola Foreign Affairs Téte António met Friday in Kigali with the Rwandan counterpart Vincent Biruta to analyze issues on bilateral cooperation, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The courtesy meeting was held on the sidelines of the 1st session of the Permanent Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Angola and Rwanda.

The top diplomats reviewed matters of multilateral interest with emphasis on their regions.

The Angolan minister leads a multi-sector delegation to the 1st session of the Permanent Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Angola and Rwanda, going from 14-16 this month in Kigali.

The meeting aims to evaluate the implementation of the agreements already signed between the two countries, identifying new areas of cooperation among other issues.

The two countries have signed legal instruments in different areas, with stress to General Agreement on Cooperation and the Agreement on the Establishment of a Permanent Joint Commission.

The legal instruments include the Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations and the Draft Memorandum of Understanding between “RDB” and the Agency for Private Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX), signed on October 23, 2020.
