Angola Investment Summit Opens in Luanda

Luanda: The "Angola Investment Summit" 2026, an international summit dedicated to discussing investment opportunities, innovation, and sustainable development in the tourism sector, officially opened on Thursday morning in Luanda, with the attendance of the President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o. The event is set to host over a thousand delegates from ten different countries.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the summit's first day's agenda includes panel discussions on various topics such as "Tourism as a national economic strategy," "Angola's success story as an emerging tourist destination," "Shaping the future of tourism investment: Sustainable capital, infrastructure, and global partnerships," and "Emerging markets, global brands: The next frontier in hospitality development." Additionally, it will cover themes like "From region to world: Tourism growth in African and global markets," "Financing the future of tourism in Africa: Development banks, PPPs, and private capital," and "Ministerial Dialogue: Tourism, investment, and national development."

Noteworthy activities planned during the summit include the official presentation of the "Tourism Doing Business: Invest in Angola" guide, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, and a gala dinner and cultural evening. Through Friday, Luanda will serve as the primary African venue for discussions on investment, economic development, tourism, innovation, and international cooperation.

Under the theme "Shaping the future of tourism in emerging destinations," the event brings together global leaders such as the President of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo; the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Shaikha Al Nuwais; and the President of the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI), Bulut Bagci. Also in attendance are investors, financial institutions, experts, business leaders, and representatives of international organizations from various regions.

The event is organized by the Government of Angola in partnership with the Global Tourism Forum Institute (GTFI), a prominent international platform for promoting tourism investment and development. The summit is significant for Angola's international profile and aims to establish tourism as a strategic sector in the nation's economic diversification. It seeks to promote concrete investment opportunities, strengthen public-private partnerships, and drive new projects to generate jobs, economic growth, and sustainable development for the country.
