Angola LNG Halts Operations for Scheduled Maintenance

Soyo: The Angola LNG Limited natural gas processing and liquefaction plant, situated in Soyo within the Zaire province, has commenced a 32-day suspension of its operations starting Wednesday, July 8, to undertake necessary maintenance work.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) announced that during this maintenance phase, the plant will fully stop the production of liquefied natural gas and its derivatives. This halt is expected to reduce the facility's monthly production and loading capacity by approximately 80%.

The maintenance shutdown is synchronized with similar maintenance activities at the Sanha Complex and the Sanha FPSO located in Area B of the Cabinda offshore fields. This coordination is part of routine maintenance and facility integrity protocols aimed at ensuring the ongoing functionality of ALNG operations, maintaining equipment reliability, and enhancing the performance and efficiency of the LNG plant.

ANPG's statement assures that production activities will gradually and safely resume upon the completion of the maintenance tasks. The agency estimates that the suspension of operations at the Sanha Complex and Sanha FPSO will impact oil production by about 48,996 barrels per day.

In terms of international market commitments, ANPG emphasizes that the Angola LNG plant is actively seeking suitable strategies to honor its contractual obligations promptly, thereby securing revenue for the Angolan State. The agency remains steadfast in its dedication to executing the maintenance work with technical precision and adherence to stringent safety, health, environmental, and operational integrity standards.

Angola LNG Limited operates as an energy consortium that converts gas associated with oil extraction into liquefied natural gas (LNG).
