Luanda: Angola has been nominated by National Geographic as one of the destinations to visit in 2026, competing in the "Best International Destination" category, among 98 finalists, distributed across 14 categories, alongside countries with a strong presence in world tourism. According to Angola Press News Agency, a press release from the Ministry of Tourism received by ANGOP Tuesday states that the nomination is the result of rigorous criteria, among which are the richness of biodiversity, unique natural landscapes, cultural diversity, the authenticity of its people, as well as the vast historical and cultural heritage that make Angola a unique and still relatively unexplored destination on the global tourism circuit. The Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that more than international recognition, this nomination represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen Angola's visibility in key international tourism markets and consolidate its position as a tourism reference in Africa and the world. Voting is open t o the public until February 22, and every vote is crucial to boost Angola's position on the list of destinations that inspire the world to travel.
