Dubai: A meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, marks the first day of the agenda of the Angolan Head of State and current Chair of the African Union (AU), Joo Louren§o, in Dubai-UAE, where he is participating in the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2026. Having arrived in Dubai on Monday night, Joo Louren§o begins his day by participating in the WGS opening ceremony followed by several plenary sessions and thematic panels.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the official program includes separate meetings with the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Shaikha N. Alnuwais, and the Prime Minister of Serbia, prior to the launch of the announced Global Investment Summit for Africa. As part of the event's work, the Head of State will also be one of the speakers at the panel on Governance Perspectives and the Future of Investment in Africa, and at the roundtable on emerging economies, before his return to the country.
