Luanda: The Angola Oil and Gas (AOG) Conference and Exhibition announces the nominees for the 2026 AOG Awards, recognizing the companies, projects, and initiatives shaping the continued development of Angola's oil and gas industry.
According to African Press Organization, the ceremony will take place during the AOG 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards in Luanda, celebrating achievements in areas such as upstream investment, exploration, local content, corporate social responsibility, oilfield services, and downstream development. The awards are part of AOG 2026, scheduled for September 9-10, with a pre-conference day on September 8, and acknowledge milestones achieved throughout Angola's oil and gas value chain.
This year's nominees represent a period of renewed investment and project activity in Angola. This includes major offshore developments, new discoveries, indigenous upstream growth, community initiatives, locally developed technology, and expanding refining and logistics infrastructure.
The Game Changer of the Year category sees ANPG nominated for advancing Angola's Hydrocarbon Strategy 2025-2050. Azule Energy is recognized for delivering first gas from Angola's first non-associated gas development and reaching the final investment decision on the $5.1 billion Greater PAJ project. TotalEnergies is also nominated for advancing the Kaminho deepwater project.
For Explorer of the Year, Sonangol is nominated for successfully appraising the Katambi-2 well in Block 24 and completing Angola's first full drill stem test on a non-associated gas reservoir. Chevron is recognized for a new discovery at the 105-4X exploration well in Block 0. Azule Energy and its Block 15/06 partners are acknowledged for the Algaita-01 discovery.
Local Company of the Year nominees include Alfort Petroleum for exploration at KON 8 in the Kwanza Basin, Etu Energias for its appraisal success and expansion into Blocks 14 and 14K, and ACREP for strengthening indigenous upstream participation.
In the CSR Initiative of the Year category, Block 17 Partners are recognized for the MUNGU Program, Cabship for its training program, and Poliedro, Etu Energias, and Kotoil for supporting communities in Benguela Province.
National Service Company of the Year sees Angola Environmental Servi§os nominated for advancing industrial waste valorization. Copia Group of Companies is recognized for developing AI-powered software, and Petromar for delivering protective structures for the Kaminho FPSO.
Downstream Player of the Year nominees include Sonangol for developing a new Suezmax tanker, Cabinda Refinery for commencing operations in 2026, and FAMAR Energies for investing in logistics and infrastructure.
The AOG Awards underscore the companies and initiatives driving progress across Angola's oil and gas sector, highlighting the broad range of activities underway in the industry.
