Angola Participates in Crucial Vaccine Strategy Meeting in Geneva

Geneva: An Angolan delegation, led by Health Minister Silvia Lutucuta, is attending the Ordinary Meeting of the World Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) from 22 to 24 this month in Geneva, Switzerland. The gathering aims to establish GAVI's new strategy for 2025 to 2030, known as GAVI 6.0. According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting offers Angola, as a partner country of GAVI, the chance to contribute to the shaping of this strategy. This participation ensures that Angola's needs and priorities related to immunization are taken into account in the global agenda. The event is pivotal for finalizing the key elements of GAVI's new strategy, making Angola's presence significant. GAVI, a multilateral organization managing vaccines worldwide, has been in partnership with Angola since 2002, working collaboratively to improve immunization efforts. Angola's involvement not only helps in shaping the strategic direction but also guarantees that the country's specific immunization concerns are addres sed. Recently, the President of Angola, Joo Lourenço, participated in a global summit on health and prosperity through immunization, co-hosted by the European Union, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and GAVI, in partnership with Global Citizen. This summit, held on June 25 in Brussels, Belgium, gathered representatives from 55 countries and organizations.
