Luanda: Angolan president Joo Louren§o on Thursday in Luanda, said the country remains open to foreign investment, innovation, knowledge transfer, and the creation of strategic partnerships capable of generating mutual benefits and accelerating its economic transformation. Speaking at the opening of the Global Tourism Forum - Investment Summit Angola 2026, the president highlighted that investment opportunities encompass the entire tourism value chain, from hotels and resorts to ecotourism, business tourism, leisure infrastructure, transport services, the digital economy applied to the sector, and professional training.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo Louren§o invited investors present at the event to invest in local tourism projects, guaranteeing that Angola will continue to assert itself as a committed and reliable partner for long-term investments. "They will find in Angola a good business environment, legal security, and committed partners," the president said. Louren§o highlighted private investment as an essential element for accelerating economic diversification and creating opportunities for Angolan youth and that the government sees investors as strategic partners in national and regional development.
The Angolan statesman also addressed the challenges that mark the current international context, characterized by climate change and armed conflicts in various regions of the world, with repercussions on international peace and security, supply chains, and global economic growth. The head of state expressed hope that the recent understandings between the United States of America and Iran will contribute to lasting peace in the Middle East and favor the implementation of United Nations resolutions on the creation of the State of Palestine.
Joo Louren§o advocated for the strengthening of multilateralism, dialogue, and international cooperation, and reiterated that peace remains the main condition for development and for attracting investment. He also highlighted the role of tourism as an instrument for bringing people closer together and promoting tolerance and cooperation among nations. The Angolan president highlighted the role played by the African Union and the United Nations in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development, indispensable factors for the tourism growth.
Joo Louren§o also expressed his conviction that the Global Tourism Forum - Investment Summit Angola 2026 will contribute to mobilizing investments, building new partnerships, and positioning Angola and Africa among the world's leading tourist and economic destinations.
