Angola Reports 19 New Mpox Cases Across Eight Provinces

Luanda:Angolan health authorities have reported 19 new Mpox cases in the last 24 hours, increasing the nation's total active infections to 107. This was announced by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) on Wednesday. According to Angola Press News Agency, the newly confirmed cases are distributed across several provinces. Moxico Leste and Luanda each recorded five cases, Cabinda reported three cases, Moxico had two, while Huambo, Icolo e Bengo, Namibe, and Uíge each reported one case. During the same period, four patients were discharged from medical care—three from Moxico Leste and one from Cabinda. There were no fatalities associated with the virus in this timeframe. In light of the situation, MINSA is enhancing its efforts in surveillance, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment nationwide, working closely with provincial health authorities. Health officials are encouraging the public to adopt preventive measures and to seek immediate medical attention if Mpox symptoms arise.
