Tripoli: The senior men's national basketball team of Angola triumphed over Kenya with a decisive 88-59 victory on Saturday in Tripoli, Libya. This match was part of the third qualifying window for the Basketball African Cup of Nations (Afrobasket2025).
According to Angola Press News Agency, Angola, who are the hosts for the upcoming Afrobasket2025 scheduled for next August, are currently in Libya to adhere to the competition schedule and enhance their competitive training. During the Group E's second round, Angola led the game at half-time with a score of 50-35.
The Angolan team is set to conclude their participation in this qualifying window with a match against Tunisia on Sunday at 3 pm Tripoli time. Despite losing their first game to Guinea by a narrow 65-66 margin on Friday, the 10-time African champions have already secured their place in the Afrobasket2025 as the hosts of the tournament.
