Luanda: The Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS) has announced a flexible day off on March 3rd in light of the upcoming Carnival celebrations. This decision aligns with the national holiday schedule, with the main Carnival parade slated for March 4th.
According to Angola Press News Agency, a press release issued on February 22nd in Luanda detailed the arrangements for the public sector. As part of the flexible day off, public sector workers will have an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes added to their workdays from February 24th to February 28th. This measure aims to accommodate the adjustments needed for the Carnival festivities.
The directive mandates that leaders of each administrative body or service ensure adherence to this schedule adjustment. However, it specifies that the flexible day off does not apply to employees who operate on shift schedules, ensuring essential services continue uninterrupted.
