Luanda: The Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, JSnio Correa Victor, reaffirmed in Luanda that Angola advocates being a mining country of excellence, with a view to boosting its economy, expanding the tax base, and satisfying collective needs.
According to Angola Press News Agency, during the closing of the Angola International Mining Conference (AIMC 2025), which took place on the 22nd and 23rd, Victor emphasized that the country aims to leverage its numerous mineral occurrences, which have been identified through extensive surveys and historical work. He assured continued support from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas to operators and stakeholders in the extractive sector to increase production and attract global investments.
The AIMC 2025, held under the theme 'Strengthening Mining Investment Opportunities at a Global Level in Angola,' sought to create a favorable investment environment. The conference promoted strategic partnerships between national and foreign investors and mapped out investment opportunities in the sector, aiming to stimulate investor interest and confidence.
The two-day event gathered business leaders, analysts, investors from both local and international arenas, and featured 40 exhibitors. Organized by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the conference addressed crucial topics such as 'Financing the Future: Attracting Investment to Angola,' 'Critical Minerals and Economic Diversification in Africa - Ensuring a Just Transition,' 'Leadership and Investment: Private Sector Intervention in the Mining Industry,' and 'External Risks, Fiscal Terms, Governance and Regulation,' among others.
During the conference, the Chamber of Mines' activity was officially recognized, and the Digital Mining Registry of Angola (CMA) was launched, marking significant steps in Angola's mining sector development.
