Angola shares experiences in Covid-19 response

Luanda – The minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta presented, this Thursday, the experience acquired by Angola in the prevention, control and response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and another on behalf of the CPLP member states, on peace building in order to build resilient health systems.

The sharing was made during the 75th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO), being held in Geneva (Switzerland) from 22 to 28 of this month, under the theme “Peace for health, health for peace.

The Cabinet minister took the opportunity to congratulate Tedros Ghebreyesus for his re-election to the post of Director-General of the WHO, which shows recognition of the effective leadership he exercised during his first mandate, and more markedly, during the last two years, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alongside the meeting, the Angolan delegation has held parallel meetings with other international organisations: CDC-Africa, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Sasakawa Foundation, UNAIDS and senior officials of the WHO drug regulatory area.

During the event, decisions will be made that will contribute to the improvement of global health care.
