Angola snatch second gold medal in Zambia zone IV

Lusaka – The Angolan national swimming team won this Friday, in Lusaka, second gold medal at the African Zone IV Championships, being held in Zambia.

This time, the feat fell to swimmer Maria Freitas, when she won the 200m freestyle with a time (2.14.97) of two minutes, 14 seconds and 97 tenths.

In the competition held in the 90 Days Legacy pool, the Angolan surpassed their previous record of 2:21.14.

Still on Friday, Rhanya Santo won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle, with a time of 2 minutes, 31 seconds and 71 tenths. With this, she improved her previous mark (2:34.35).

In his turn, the competitor Marco Furtado also climbed the podium, getting the bronze medal, with a time (30.64) 30 seconds and 64 tenths, in the 50m butterfly.

With this result, Angola won four medals, two gold, one silver and the same number of bronze.
