Angola to Host International Tourism Investment Conference

Luanda: The president of the Institute of the World Tourism Forum (IFMT), Bulut Bagci, announced on Friday in Luanda the upcoming International Tourism Investment Conference, scheduled for June 18th and 19th in the Angolan capital. Bulut Bagci emphasized Angola's potential as an emerging destination for investors on the African continent during a press briefing following a meeting with the President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o. Bagci presented event details and reiterated the institution's commitment to elevating Angola's profile on the international tourist scene.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Bulut Bagci, who is visiting Angola for the second time following his initial visit in 2019, noted the country's favorable investment conditions. These include infrastructure development, improvements in the airport sector, visa facilitation policies, and political stability and security for tourists. "The set of these factors places Angola as one of the preferred destinations for investors, especially in a global context where investment flows tend to move to Africa," Bagci noted.

The Institute of the World Tourism Forum has been increasing its presence in Africa, including Angola, by promoting tourism as a key element of economic diversification. Bagci highlighted tangible signs of this interest, revealing that during ITB Berlin, three memorandums of understanding were signed with international business groups eager to invest in Angola's hotel sector and related industries.

Bulut Bagci also commented on the favorable international context for positioning Angola as a tourist and investment hub, noting the growing interest of major investors in the Angolan market. The World Tourism Forum Institute, an independent international organization established in 2010 and headquartered in London, serves as a global think tank dedicated to sustainable tourism development. It organizes conferences, conducts strategic studies, and undertakes initiatives to attract investment.

As part of its mission, IFMT hosts conferences and summits, provides consultancy on public tourism policies, and encourages sector investments. It also publishes specialized content, such as World Magazine, and prepares international tourism rankings.
