Luanda: President Joo Louren§o accredited six new ambassadors on Friday, who will represent the political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural interests of their respective countries in Angola.
According to Angola Press News Agency, in separate ceremonies held at the Presidential Palace, the Head of State received the Letters of Credence from several ambassadors. Alda Quaresma de Assun§o Ramos, the ambassador of the Democratic Republic of So Tome and Prncipe, was accredited with resident status in Angola. The diplomat has previously served in various government bodies in her country, including as a member of the National Assembly and the Pan-African Parliament.
In addition, the ambassadors of the Dominican Republic, Erika Alvarez Rodrigues; the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mekuria Geta Worku; and Bangladesh, Miah Mainuel Kabir, were accredited as non-residents. The President also received the Letters of Credence from the Colombian ambassador, Maria del Rosario Mina Rojas, and the Nicaraguan ambassador, Danilo Javier.
Following the formalization of the protocol procedure, President Joo Louren§o held private meetings of approximately 10 minutes with each of the newly accredited diplomats.
