Luanda: More than AOA 978 million in business volume, 150 business contacts, 50 partnerships, and over 900 jobs were generated in Menongue during the 3-day first edition of Expo Cubango 2026.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Carlos Calas, chairman of the board of CCallas Angola, which organised the event, highlighted the diversity and capacity of local and national businesses showcased by 285 exhibitors from different sectors. He described the outcomes as a testament to the province's potential to produce, attract investment, and create opportunities.
The event also recorded attendance from more than 55,000 visitors, a figure which, according to Calas, underscores the interest of the population and economic operators in exploring production, trade, and investment prospects in the province. The municipality of Cuchi was awarded the Expo Cubango 2026 Grand Prize.
Carlos Calas emphasized that the more than AOA 978 million generated at the event represented production, circulation of wealth, and stimulation of economic activity in Cubango Province. He noted that the 150 business contacts established led to 50 concrete partnerships, indicating that the effects of Expo Cubango are likely to extend beyond the event's duration.
In the social sphere, he highlighted the creation of over 900 jobs, describing it as an opportunity for young people to contribute directly to increasing household incomes. For Carlos Calas, the achievements illustrate that Cubango is more than just a consumer market; it is a territory capable of producing, attracting investment, and creating opportunities.
The chairman of the board of CCallas Angola regarded the inaugural Expo Cubango as a platform connecting producers and buyers, projects and capital, and the public and private sectors. He expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government of Cubango, the organizing team, partners, and exhibitors for their commitment to the event, viewing it as a significant starting point for stimulating the province's economy.
Carlos Calas reaffirmed CCallas Angola's commitment to bridging businesses with opportunities, strengthening local companies, and contributing to investment attraction. To investors, he assured that Cubango is open and ready to welcome new projects, while exhibitors were encouraged to leave with not just sales, but also partnerships and new business opportunities.
Carlos Calas concluded that Expo Cubango 2026 should be seen as "a bridge, a starting point, and a new economic era" for the province, advocating for continued joint efforts between the public and private sectors to transform local potential into sustainable development. Expo Cubango was held from 10 to 13 September.
