Solevo Plans 100,000-Tonne Annual Fertilizer Supply for Angola

Luanda: Angolan agricultural distributor Solevo plans to supply more than 100,000 metric tons of fertilizer per year to the domestic market, leveraging a local blending facility to meet growing agricultural demand, a company official said on Saturday. According to Angola Press News Agency, commercial representative Gaspar Lumbo, speaking on the sidelines of the Benguela International Fair, stated that Solevo imports raw materials and processes custom fertilizer blends at its production center in Benguela province. The company operates a distribution hub and logistics base in Catumbela, which is strategically located near the Negro railway line, facilitating bulk supply across the region. In addition to standard agricultural fertilizers, Solevo produces specialized formulations, including soluble mixtures such as 20-20-20 and 10-40-10, which are designed for high-yield farming. Lumbo also announced that Solevo is introducing high-yield hybrid corn seeds imported from Brazil alongside pest-resistant onion see d varieties to local growers. "We hope to establish more partnerships related to our area of operation and, consequently, increase our sales volume," Lumbo noted. This initiative aligns with Angola's efforts to bolster domestic crop yields and reduce reliance on imported finished agricultural inputs.
