Luanda:Angola The country has launched a national tourism promotion strategy with the goal of expanding its global travel presence and tripling the number of international tour operators promoting Angola as a destination, according to the state tourism agency INFOTUR.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the campaign, titled "Angola From Guest to Host of the World," was unveiled by INFOTUR Director-General Allica Santos during the Angola Economic Forum 2026. This initiative is designed to enhance international credibility and increase visitor numbers beyond the 2025 levels, which saw 59,750 business and 52,000 leisure arrivals.
The strategy focuses on two main segments "Visit Angola," which targets leisure travel with the motto "The Rhythm of Life," and "Meet in Angola," tailored for the business, conference, and corporate events (MICE) sector. The objective is to expand the network of international tour operators from 21 to 63 within a year, prioritizing key markets in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), the UK, Spain, Poland, and South Africa.
Development plans include establishing new tourist camps in the Luiana plains in Cuando province and Iona National Park, expected to open in October. Additionally, the ongoing promotion of the Cuatir Reserve, Namibe, Kalandula Falls, and the capital, Luanda, is part of the strategy.
In the MICE sector, the Angola Convention Bureau's launch and Angola's debut at IMEX Frankfurt in May 2026 have already helped secure major international events, such as the E1 Luanda GP, the FIN Summit, and the WTA Ladies Open. Furthermore, Angola was featured as the official host country at ITB Berlin in 2026 and participated in trade shows in Madrid, Durban, and London.
