Angolan Ambassador Joo Baptista Quiosa Begins Diplomatic Mission in South Africa

Pretoria: Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Joo Baptista Quiosa, presented his credentials to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, officially marking the start of his diplomatic mission in the country. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Pretoria, attended by members of the presidential cabinet, the South African government, and the accredited diplomatic corps.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the presentation of credentials signifies a commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between Angola and South Africa. The two countries have maintained a cooperative relationship since 1994, following the end of apartheid, focusing on sectors such as mining, energy, tourism, and agriculture. These areas are seen as crucial for the economic development of both nations, highlighting the importance of the ambassador's role in fostering continued collaboration.

The diplomatic engagement between Angola and South Africa is expected to further consolidate efforts in existing cooperative fields and explore new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
