Angolan ambassador presents credentials in Panama

Luanda – Angolan diplomat Maria Cândida Pereira Teixeira was on Tuesday accredited as Angola’s ambassador to the Republic of Panama, after presenting her credentials to President Laurentino Cortizo.

According to a press release of the Angolan diplomatic representation in Cuba to which ANGOP had access, the protocol ceremony took place in the Yellow Hall of the Las Garzas Palace (Government Palace).

Maria Cândida Pereira took the opportunity to convey to President Laurentino Cortizo the greetings of his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, and to express the importance that the Angolan Government gives to the strengthening of the cooperation relations between the two States-

She highlighted the fact that Panama is a country with the status of observer in the African Union (AU).

The Angolan diplomat then met with the minister of Foreign Affairs, Erika Mouynes, the director-general of Foreign Policy, Isbeth Quiel, and the head of the department for Africa and the Middle East, António Henriques, all from the same institution.
