Luanda: Customers with bank debit cards in Angola will have to pay a 20 kwanza fee for certain ATM operations involving printed receipts starting this month. This charge will come into effect after customers exceed a free limit which includes four balance inquiries, two transactions, and four monthly cash withdrawals.
According to Angola Press News Agency, instruction no. 02/2025 from the National Bank of Angola (BNA) outlines that the fee will only apply once the customer surpasses the specified limits. This directive is part of a broader initiative by the Central Bank to standardize fees related to electronic banking services across the country.
The instruction mandates that all financial institutions under the supervision of the BNA, including commercial banks and payment service providers, adhere to this new fee structure. Furthermore, the guidelines are designed to prevent merchants and institutions from imposing abusive fees, thereby ensuring greater predictability of costs for users.
