Business Forum Paves Way for Enhanced Angola-Serbia Investment Cooperation

Caxito: The provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Ant³nia Nelumba, highlighted today the significance of the 1st Business Forum between the provinces of Bengo (Angola) and Vojvodina (Republic of Serbia). In her speech, the governor considered the meeting an essential platform for investment, strengthening trade, and enhancing cooperative relations between the two peoples.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor expressed 'high regard' and extended a warm welcome to the Serbian delegation, emphasizing that the visit represents another concrete step in the consolidation of bilateral ties, following several meetings held in recent years. The Business Forum, which brought together representatives from the two regions, was presented as a strategic platform to boost cooperation in strategic sectors such as economy, agriculture, industry, energy, education, environment, tourism, culture, and urban management.

Maria Nelumba stated that Bengo stands out for its vast agricultural potential, natural resources, and strategic proximity to Luanda, while Vojvodina is recognized as an important agricultural and industrial center in Serbia, with strong technological capacity and experience in innovation. The combination of these strengths, she said, could enable the development of industrial partnerships, the transfer of knowledge and technology, the attraction of sustainable investments, as well as the increase in bilateral trade and the creation of jobs.

The meeting was also seen as a starting point for the materialization of concrete projects and lasting partnerships. The businesspeople present were encouraged to explore opportunities, promote dialogue, and identify common interests. Maria Nelumba informed that the success of the initiative will depend on collaboration, mutual trust, and commitment to development, arguing that cooperation between Bengo and Vojvodina can become an example of joint growth between regions on different continents.

On the occasion, the economic and tourist potential of Bengo and the Autonomous province of Vojvodina was presented through videos. Participating in the 1st Bengo-Vojvodina Business and Entrepreneurial Forum were the Secretary of Economy and Tourism, Nenad Ivanisevic from the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the ambassador of Serbia to Angola, Milos Perisic, deputies to the National Assembly, members of the provincial government of Bengo and Vojvodina, businesspeople, and investors from both countries.
