Angolan Cosmetologist Unveils ‘Kianda Cosmetics’ for Black Skin in Rome

Rome: A cosmetics line called “Kianda Cosmetics,” created by Angolan cosmetologist Dominique Maria Domingos specifically for black skin, will be launched in Rome, the capital of Italy.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the scientist and owner of the brand revealed that negotiations are currently underway to present the brand and make the products available to Angolan consumers in the first half of 2027. She explained that her product’s unique selling point is that it is specifically designed for people with darker skin tones, as well as other skin types.

Domingos, who has a degree in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and a specialization in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Sapienza University in Rome, explained that her motivation for this achievement came from her difficulty in achieving good results with cosmetics made and tested for different skin types. This forces black skin to adapt to the product. She continued that dark skin dehydrates very quickly in cold climates and that cosmetics not prepared for this situation are ineffective.

She said that she had found it very difficult to find products that met these requirements, so while still at university, she started studying the properties of certain local plants. In her private research, she investigated tropical flora, which forms the basis of her products. The Angolan scientist, who has lived in Italy for over 30 years, revealed that her next step will be to produce herbal medicines.
