Cuando Governor Highlights Mobility and Agriculture as Priorities


Cuando: The governor of Cuando province, Carla Maria Domingas Cativa, highlighted on Thursday the improvement of mobility, the strengthening of agricultural production, and the expansion of social infrastructure as priorities of her mandate. Carla Cativa expressed her commitment to promoting the integrated development of the province, noting that the region, resulting from the recent political-administrative division, still faces constraints, particularly concerning the road network.



According to Angola Press News Agency, Cativa discussed the execution and planning of key road sections in the localities of Mavinga, Dirico, and Rivungo. These developments are expected to impact the mobility of people and goods, enhance trade, and boost local economic development. The governor emphasized the agricultural potential of the province and mentioned that the local Executive is investing in the sector to ensure food self-sufficiency and generate market surpluses.



Cativa assured the continuity of policies implemented by the previous governor, Lºcio Gon§alves Amaral, who was recently appointed Minister of National Defense. She reiterated her commitment to consolidating the progress achieved under his administration.



Carla Maria Domingas Cativa was born on July 22, 1975. She holds several significant positions, including being a member of the National Assembly, Secretary for Organization and Mobilization of the Angolan Women’s Organization, and a member of the Central Committee of the MPLA. Throughout her career, she has served in various roles such as fourth vice-president of the MPLA Parliamentary Group, vice-governor of Cuando Cubango for the social area, and provincial director of Culture for Cuando Cubango. She is fluent in Portuguese, Nganguela, Umbundu, and English.
