Angolan Government Reaffirms Commitment to Education and Teaching

Ndalatando: The Angolan government reaffirmed on Friday its commitment to education and teaching as the cornerstone of individual empowerment, social transformation, and national development. This commitment was announced during the formal opening ceremony of the 2025/2026 academic year in higher education, held in Ndalatando (Cuanza-Norte), by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria do Ros¡rio Bragan§a.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the higher education subsystem in Angola has experienced a steady increase in its student population over the past five decades. Currently, higher education enrolls more than 331,000 students nationwide, showcasing the government's dedication to strengthening human capital.

Bragan§a emphasized that significant challenges remain, such as ensuring higher-quality education and aligning training offerings with the demands of both the local and global labor markets. She underlined that addressing and overcoming these challenges necessitates collaborative efforts to transform higher education and enhance its ability to fulfill its social mission.
