Ndalatando: The 2025/2026 academic year in higher education officially began on Friday in Ndalatando (Cuanza-Norte) with a solemn ceremony presided over by Minister of State for Social Affairs M¡ria do Ros¡rio Bragan§a.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Albano Vicente Lopes Ferreira, as well as senior officials from the ministry, rectors, and heads of higher education institutions in Angola.
Before the ceremony, the minister, along with rectors and heads of higher education institutions, convened to evaluate the criteria for awarding scholarships, with a focus on internal scholarships. They also reviewed external evaluation processes, quality regulations, teacher training, and the conditions of academic institutions.
Additionally, discussions were held on the need to revise some academic curriculums and introduce new courses. This initiative aims to align with economic and social development, economic diversification, and innovation. The creation of business incubators by higher education institutions was also considered crucial to stimulate entrepreneurship.
During her address, the minister emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation between higher education institutions in Angola.
