Angolan head of state congratulates French government

 

Luanda – The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Thursday congratulated the French people and government on the celebration of the National Day in France, which is being celebrated today (Thursday).

In a message to his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, the Angolan Head of State highlighted France’s contribution to the construction of the current world system, in which democracy and freedom of peoples are defended.

This position, President João Lourenço said, makes the French Republic an “unavoidable actor at the heart of the main themes of global impact”.

In the letter, the Angolan President stresses the high level of relations that characterize the two countries and reiterates the will to strengthen existing exchanges.

This involves cooperation in key sectors of both states’ economies, in order to contribute to an increasingly fruitful relationship “with tangible and reciprocal benefits.

Angola and France established diplomatic relations on 17 February 1976.

The two countries have relations of political, economic and cultural cooperation.

The cooperation between the two states has seen new developments, after the official visit of President João Lourenço to that European country, on 28 May 2018.
