Angolan head of State congratulates new UAE President

Luanda – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço Monday congratulated Mohamed Bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan on his recent appointment as President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“On behalf of the Executive and on my own, I have the honour to congratulate Your Highness on the recent appointment to the post of President of the United Arab Emirates”, the Angolan statesman expressed in the message.

In the letter, reached ANGOP on Monday, João Lourenço says he is sure that the choice will be crucial for the continuity of the successful policies developed by his predecessor.

He expresses his conviction that under the leadership of Mohamed Bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates will follow the path of modernity and progress, achieved in recent decades in all areas of national life.

“I am convinced that in this mandate our countries will continue to make efforts to deepen and expand the existing excellent bilateral cooperation relations”, the note said.

In the framework of bilateral cooperation, the Angolan Head of State anticipates reciprocal, tangible benefits capable of boosting the development and progress of the two countries.

He concludes the message by saying “I wish you many successes and good health in the performance of your duties as President of the United Arab Emirates”.

Cooperation

Cooperation between Angola and the United Arab Emirates covers oil and gas, mining, trade and investment, energy, defence, transport, agriculture, fisheries, banking, telecommunications and finance and tax sectors.

One of the outstanding examples of the participation of businessmen from the United Arab Emirates in the Angolan economy is the agricultural tractor assembly plant, located in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.

With the capacity to produce 3,000 units per year, the factory represents an investment of around 65 million dollars.
