Angolan Minister Advocates for Enhanced Economic Diplomacy to Boost Investment

Cuanza sul: The Angolan Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguªns de Oliveira, emphasized the need for enhanced economic diplomacy in Cuanza Sul, aiming to shift Angola from being merely a resource operator to becoming a promoter of investment.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Minister made these remarks at the conclusion of the V Consultative Council of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. He stressed the importance of reinforcing economic diplomacy to invigorate the national economy. The Minister highlighted the necessity of working towards national economic diversification by utilizing the country's arable land, abundant water, and ample human resources.

The event outlined the Ministry's action guidelines, focusing on achieving self-sufficiency and food security, alongside procedural industrialization and economic diversification. Rui Miguªns de Oliveira advocated for strengthening the dissemination of the importance of protecting industrial property assets.

He further elaborated that the council reached a consensus on implementing access to the Financing Program, 'Programa Transformar Aqui.' This initiative aligns with the Executive's policy to promote the manufacturing industry in agricultural production areas, mobilizing cooperatives and agricultural associations.

The Minister recommended that commercial attach©s should work towards attracting foreign direct investment, promoting the Made in Angola brand, and creating business opportunities to integrate national companies into international trade. He also highlighted the need to approve operating regulations for specialized trade services at diplomatic missions.
