Luanda:Micro, small, and medium enterprises are crucial to Angola's long-term economic sustainability, according to Industry and Commerce Minister Rui Migu©ns. He made these remarks during the opening of the 2nd edition of the National MSME Awards.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister addressed business leaders and government officials, emphasizing the role of local entrepreneurs as a "stream of hope" for the nation's economy. He acknowledged the significant structural challenges that small business owners face, including limited access to credit and high failure rates among early-stage ventures.
Migu©ns stressed that turning ideas into successful businesses requires resilience and determination, and he reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. To tackle these challenges, the Angolan government is focusing on support programs to help emerging businesses build value, achieve financial viability, and scale up operations.
The awards ceremony, organized jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Institute for Support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), celebrated top-performing local companies. Fazenda Horta do Garcia received the top honor in the micro-enterprise category, while Aguanara Com©rcio Geral e Indºstria and architecture firm Soapro won in the small and medium enterprise categories, respectively.
