Luanda: Angolan OMATAPALO Group and the Ministry of Public Works of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint development of major works and other priority civil engineering projects in the country.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreement encompasses projects involving government, parliamentary and judicial infrastructure, roads, and other priority initiatives under the supervision of the DRC Ministry of Public Works. OMATAPALO stated that the memorandum marks a milestone in the business group's international expansion strategy, enhancing its presence in the DRC market, where it aims to leverage its experience, technical capacity, and engineering expertise on significant projects.
The company explained that the process would include all necessary components to complete the projects, ranging from engineering studies and solutions to financing, the supply of equipment and state-of-the-art materials, and the execution of the works. It emphasized that through this partnership, OMATAPALO is reinforcing its ambition to actively participate in developing solutions to meet the DRC's growth and modernization needs.
The document highlighted that the partnership reflects increasing economic and business ties between Angola and the DRC, showcasing the potential of regional and South-South cooperation to mobilize skills, investment, and technical solutions capable of accelerating infrastructure development in Africa. It further noted that OMATAPALO's presence in the DRC is part of an international growth strategy centered on its ability to transfer knowledge, experience, and engineering solutions to different markets and establish robust partnerships with public and private institutions.
On this occasion, OMATAPALO's General Director in the DRC, Lus Marques, underscored the strategic importance of the understanding and the long-term vision that underpins the cooperation between the two entities. He stressed that the business group is prepared to utilize its experience, technical capacity, and engineering expertise to support infrastructure development that will contribute to the modernization and socio-economic progress of the DRC.
