Luanda: Minister of Finance Vera Daves is leading the Angolan delegation participating in the Angola-United Kingdom Business and Investment Forum in London on 8 and 9 September. The event focuses on the ongoing reforms in Angola and available investment opportunities, emphasizing the Privatisation Programme, financing strategy, public debt management, and capital market development. According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance and its subordinate institutions, the Ministry of Planning, the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), commercial banks, and financial institutions. These representatives will engage in several panels throughout the forum. The Minister of Finance's agenda features participation in the market-opening ceremony at the London Stock Exchange, where she will have the honor of activating the mechanism to 'open the market', symbolizing Angola's closer ties with London's international financial center. Vera Daves will serve as the keynote speaker at the forum's opening session, where she will discuss Angola's growing credibility as an investment destination. Highlighting the nation's reforms, she will present a portfolio of opportunities in privatisation, capital markets, and sovereign financing. Additionally, the agenda includes bilateral meetings between the Minister of Finance and representatives from the British Government and the financial sector, including a meeting with Kirsty McNeill, the new British Minister for Africa. The Minister will also participate in an event focusing on Angola's macroeconomic developments, ongoing reforms, and investment opportunities, particularly the PROPRIV portfolio, sovereign debt, and capital markets.
