Luanda – Angolan Parliament will reinforce cooperation with the counterpart of Morocco, according to that country’s ambassador, Saadia El Alaoui.
Saadia El Alaoui was speaking at the end of an audience with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Moroccan ambassador to Angola, Saadia El Alaoui, said that the meeting reviewed the cooperation between the two parliaments.
According to the diplomat, there is a possibility for the parliaments of both countries to expand cooperation in various areas.
The meeting, according to Saadia El Alaoui, also served to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
Political and diplomatic relations between Angola and the Kingdom of Morocco date back to the beginning of the process of the National Liberation Struggle of African peoples against colonial domination.
Following the independence of Angola, the two governments decided to establish diplomatic relations, through the installation of embassies in Luanda and Rabat.
The two countries signed In October 1988 the General Agreement on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, which allowed the holding of the First Session of the Joint Bilateral Angolan-Moroccan Commission, in Rabat, in October 1989. FMA/AL/ADR
