Angolan Police Arrests 19 DRC Nationals for National Border Violate Attempt

Luanda: At least 19 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were detained over the weekend in northern U­ge province by the Border Guard Police during eight attempts to illegally enter the country.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the balance sheet report from the Provincial Command of the National Police in U­ge, sent to ANGOP on Monday, detailed that the illegal immigrants were detained at the Kimbata and Malele checkpoints in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo, Kituma (Quimbele), and Kindaca (Massau).

The report also highlighted that among the illegal immigrants, there were eight minors. During the same period the previous week, the police detained 18 DRC citizens in a total of 12 attempts to violate the national border.

Based on the facts and after operational formalities and administrative procedures, the detained individuals were referred to the Immigration and Foreigners Service (SME) for further processing.
