Angolan president shows solidarity with Brazil’s storm victims

Luanda – Angolan head of State João Lourenço Saturday expressed solidarity with his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro for the victims of the tragedy caused by heavy rains that hit Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro.

In his message to Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro, João Lourenço states that it was with “feeling of deep sadness” that he learn of the “enormous tragedy.

Angolan Statesman regretted the death toll among residents and huge material damages caused by the tragedy.

In his message, the president sent his “heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims”, on his behalf and the Angolan people.

The condolences were also extensive to the Brazilian people, with stress to the bereaved families, whose pain he said, we understand and share.

Heavy rains hit Brazil’s Petropolis Tuesday, on the hillside of Rio de Janeiro, with flooding and landslides causing hundreds of deaths and several missing.
